Hello Academy Evaluation participants,
I would like to take this opportunity to share with you the following information regarding Academy Evaluations this week! The information below will hopefully answer any questions that you may have.
First and for most I would like to welcome all of you to the CFC Academy Evaluations. Please understand that these are not tryouts where players are ‘cut’ but rather an evaluation to determine whether a player is capable of rising to the challenge of ‘competitive soccer’ and not whether they are able to perform at that level now. It is almost more about personality than ability.
CFC recommends that you participate in as many if not all Academy sessions. This will allow coaches to make a thorough assessment of each player. CFC provides 3 sessions to accommodate players and parents with their hectic schedules throughout the week. Also, we certainly understand that this type of environment may make players a bit nervous on the first day and so by providing 2 more days will hopefully make them more comfortable with the environment from session to session.
à All players must check in before every session at the registration table located on the deck of the club house. Each player will receive an evaluation number to stick on their shirt.
à Players will be split up by age groups for each session and assigned 1 to 2 coaches (Evaluators). Age groups may be combined during evaluations. Example: If we have 3 U9 players and 10 U10 players then we will combine both age groups for that session.
à Evaluation sessions will include but not limited to the following:
o Introduction
o Juggling
o Technical: Dribbling and Turning
o 1v1
o Small sided games
à Please bring soccer cleats (boots), shin guards, water, and lots of enthusiasm.
à Communication is reserved for before and after the sessions. Once the session begins our first priority is to evaluation the players. Coaches will be available after each session to answer any questions you may have!
à In case of inclement weather CFC will communicate any cancellations, make updates or delays via the website and email! A decision to cancel a session will be made by 3:30pm. If no decision has been made by 3:30pm then a decision will be made at the soccer fields.
à If you know anyone that is interested in participating in our Academy Evaluations, registration is still available online at www.carolinafc.net
I look forward seeing all of you this week and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me directly!
Keep on Jugglin’
