Each Carolina FC team shall be responsible to reimburse its coach’s travel expenses to attend tournaments as stipulated in the coach’s contract with CFC.
Meals
Meal allowance of $25/day will be paid to the coach. This includes the day prior to the start of the tournament (usually Friday) if travel is required to get to the tournament location in time for scheduled games.
Mileage
When traveling by personal vehicle, the team shall reimburse the coach at the current rate allowed in their contract with CFC. For the 2006/2007 season this rate is $0.35 per mile. At no time shall a team pay in excess of the current IRS rate. Mileage will be determined by the team manager who will estimate expected mileage to, from and during the tournament based on location of the coach’s home, tournament lodging, match venues, etc.
Lodging
The per diem rate for lodging shall be whatever lodging arrangements are made by the team or club for the coach. With team approval, other arrangements may be made, but the coach shall not be reimbursed in excess of the team or club arranged rate. The team is not responsible for personal expenses without prior agreement.
Transportation
For long distance travel, the team shall pay for the coach’s airfare and necessary car rental fees and gasoline. These costs shall not exceed the average cost as applied to team members.
Receipts
Receipts are required for lodging and car rental expenditures.
Payment Schedule
The team and coach shall determine when the coach will receive payment for meals, mileage and lodging or if an “advance” is required.
Assistant Coach / Trainer
Reimbursement of expenses incurred by an assistant coach / trainer must be pre-approved by the team. There is no CFC policy to cover reimbursement of an assistant coach’s or trainers expenses.
Travel Expenses for out-of-area matches, meetings, league obligations
Per Diem
CFC shall be responsible to reimburse coaches $35/day for expenses related to travel for out-of-area matches, meetings or league obligations such as scheduling meetings. Out-of-area is defined as outside of the Spartanburg-Greenville area.
